It's a simple preamp with a low noise, high gain NPN transistor.

It cuts very low and very high frequencies to avoid distortion and noises.

max voltage gain (au) ≈ 25dB around 1,2kHz
Use shielded-wire. Plated components (jacks and the volume pot) must be grounded.
