Problems with BitComet(?)

This is for anyone who reads this and is able to help my present predicament. The thing is my brother,(great guy),put together a decent system for me.My other system was getting quite old (Dec '02),but has pretty good specs  as compared to systems today. It has a Intel Pentium 4-2.2GHz,had original 512MB RAM,but now has 2gig RAM,with Creative Soundblaster-Audigy 4,and an ATI All-In Wonder 9200 with 128MB DDR,and a 80GB Western Digital HD,with access to a Maxtor 250GB internal HD,and an external 250GB for storing/backups.The new system has -AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor,3400+,2,21GHz   -2GB RAM has a Foxconn MB with Nvidia  nTune software. On both systems I use WinXP Home. The newer system has Nortons Internet Security 2005 on it and the Nvidia software has an separate fierwall. The system has [3] firewalls that I know of,the windows firewall, the Nvidia firewall, the Norton Software firewall, and I have a feeling that this could be the cause of my problem,I don't Know[?].
So the problem that I have is that I cannot run Bitcomet on my system. Once its downloaded to my computer,I install it,and once installed it starts automatically, then my cpu goes black, then a blue screen, then reboots. Its driving me nuts that I can't run BitComet,am so angry and upset. Is there a solution to this predicament? Is there a reason why I can't seem to use BitComet, when most other similar programs load and run problem free, but with a selection that never really changes, all the same old items I already have.At least with BC you never run out of selections.Which makes it Number 1 in my books,if I can only get to run.H-E-L-P!!!!

'only use one firewall' and Norton's is system resource HOG... if your router has a built end firewall that's OK you can still use another firewall.I'm using Zone alarm Pro. hope that help you a little

Have a nice day!

Ahh the blue screen of death. It's not a hardware problem. Bitcomet needs almost no CPU. I'd have to agree with the above posts. If you have two firewalls going, stop one of them. I use Norton 360 V2.0 and have windows firewall disabled for better compatability between my computer and software. I'd shut the NVIDIA firewall off too. Worth atleast a try..

never run more than one firewall they all conflict with each other,.i recommend the anti virus firewall rather than the others you mention,.. but it may also be your hard drive is starting to fail, thats may be the problem with the blue screen of death,...firstly turn off all firewalls especially windows thats the worst conflict then apply your norton one,.turn off computer, then back on when done this,.

and then check all is ok,..without starting any programs, but if all is ok then start bitcomet,if the problem recurrs and is still persistant then you have a software conflict,.but if its ok,and your getting local and remote connections then all is ok,..

you may be asked then to let bitcomet thru your anti virus firewall to make bitcomet work correctly,.

hope this helps,......

all the best wish,s to you and your family.......

take care
