I'm sorry I didn't blog for a couple of days (more than a week) but I was busy with various other things. This post is just to sum up the highlights of what happened to me in te past days.

First I want to tell you, I finally got a real digital camera, so I wont have to make crappy webcam photo's anymore. Since my parents bought a new one, I could have their old HP Photosmart 945 for free

I've been going over this in my head for a long time. Ever since my girlfriend got medication for her alcohol problem, I started paying attention to how much I drink and how it affects my ability to perform daily stuff, like cleaning, paying the bills, grocery shopping, preparing dinner, washing my cloathes but also going to work (even though my job SUCKS), meeting with other people, visiting my parents etc. etc.

The conclusion of my self-reflection over the past few weeks and some research on the internet has showed me that the regular consumption of alcohol (even though it was only beer and wine for me, no liquor or distiled stuff) brought me down. It slowed me in my other activities, it sucked the life out of me, I got more arguments with my Girlfriend, which we both really hate... So I just decided, this can't go on like this. I gotta stop drinking so much alcohol, or else wake up alone someday and a voice in my head will say "Told you so!" That voice would be......

I discussed this topic on the Gathering of Tweakers.Net forum again, like my previous post so I had lots of time to think about it and got lots of feedback from many Dutch people.

First I have to say, we Dutch are a really "sober" kind of people in many ways. Our culture is not to believe in conspiracy therories, many people believe in the Bible but only a few of them really strong. (Which is in my opinion the best myth written today, since no 2 believers or non-believers can agree upon the content of the bible)

Well today I will include some movies, some of you may already know, some of you may not. First of all I'd like to invite you to check my links, where it says "WAKE UP CALL" this is a link to a legal torrent, with many conspiracy theories in it. Mind you, they are theories. Most of it is not backed up by substantial evidence, though I do know for a fact that SOME of it contains full truth about how the world is today.

It's the weekend again and in the weekend I always try to do a little home-improvement. Sometimes this just includes washing up, mopping the floor etc. But sometimes like today I feel like I need to do something more.

Yesterday I started a topic on the forum of Tweakers.Net on how to bring down the gas and electric bill. In under 24 hours I got over 50 responses, didn't realize such a topic would be a great hit. For all you Dutch readers, you can read the post HERE For the English readers I try to sum up all the ideas we've gathered so far. I set my appartment as example, but many of the tips can be applied in every home.

Today was just plain BORING. Yesterday the same. I drank more beer than usual because everything is BORING a.t.m. My girlfriend has her period at the moment and that makes it even more BORING. No sex, no interesting work, I've seen everything there is to be seen on television and I don't feel like going out either. I'm getting pretty isolated here in my appartment. Tomorrow I need to go out though, because I need to buy groceries. That will be 7 microwave meals, a lump of cheese, some bread, some bacon and more beer. And that's about it.

As you might know, I like computers very much and I spend a lot of time with them. Next to my girlfriend and my parents they're the most important things in my life. Well as it's my greatest hobby, and at first I was supposed to become a professional in ICT (I was educated at bachelor level until I got ill) I always was a great fan of the Dutch ICT website Tweakers.Net. I've been a registered member with the biggest dutch ICT site for 9 years now. But a long time I was not able to participate to it, because of my dissease. Now I'm back and I'm a moderator. :-) That means, I can help determine if posts and replies on the site are either not wanted, normal or of value (5 grades from -2 to +2).

As you might know I turned 26 on 14 oct. 08. I did not mention much about it on my birthday because I was too busy with the people that visited me and the more with the 1TB NAS drive that got delivered at 9:30 AM on my birthday. When I checked my mailbox, there was a card from my parents, it made a happy-birthday-2-u music when opened and it contained 10 euros. ... Well, I always like to get money ofcourse.

I also got a card from my aunt, with a penguin on it ... my aunt's boyfriend is a linux-lover like me so they knew I'd like it. 

Well the party went OK. I got 48 cans of 0,5L beer and 2 bottles of Wine but I still have some beer lef. Not......

In my previous post I told you about the 1TB NAS Drive I ordered  online via PCMegastore. Well, this is how it went: 9th of this month I placed the order and directly wired the cash to their bankaccount. You'd say an internet bank transfer would go fast, but since we have 2 diffrent bank systems in the Netherlands (Bank and Giro) it takes 2 workdays to transfer the money. 

Thursday, I got an email, right after placing my order, that the ordered 1TB NAS drive was currently out of stock and that it could take upto 10 days for my product to arrive, and then they still had to send it.

14th of this month is my birthday, and I always buy myself a birthday present as well. This year I'm going to buy a 1TB NAS Drive from Western Digital. You might know why I need the extra storage ... With all the downloading with bitcomet, I just ran short on the 0,5TB (500GB) I have in my main system. I already got an extra 100GB USB2 drive from my parents for free, because they believed it was broken. Okay, it had some troubles, but with Linux and some rigorous drive formatting (low-level format) I fixed all of these. So now I have 0,6TB on my main PC. But ofcourse, with BitComet and a phat internet connection, you can't have enough storage ever. So I ordered this drive for my birthday: (click the image to see the specifications)

Dear reader,

As you might have noticed I posted a lot of shit going on in my neighbourhood. To sum it up from the past 5 or so weeks we've had 3 bikes stolen (including mine), 2 fires set, 1 couch thrown off the balcony of the second floor and on top of that we have 2 anti-socials living in my appartment building. This is where I live, near the red A where it says Mozartstraat:

One of the anti-social persons is a collector. And he collects EVERYTHING especially when it's made of metal, cause he can sell that. But since his whole appartment is piled up with a major mess, he now stores all of his shit in the hallway to the garage-boxes. I have one at the end......
